If you like OPERA with an urban twist, you will enjoy this opera. It is set in the 1960s in Memphis. The author writes from his own experiences - just the names have been changed. It is tough, gritty, and soulful. I like opera and enjoyed hearing it in ENGLISH. No fat lady screaming in German at you. No Nazi Wagner to endure. The singing was outstanding. The casting was heaven sent. The preview seats were cheap and the company was divine - Yolanda, Bonnie, and Bonnie's friend. One of Bonnie's former staff members was a 'radio.' Bill Liberatore from Gunn's Music Dept. directed a fine collection of musicians.
Go see it!
